I’m Steven Murray, I was born in Chicago, but grew up my entire life in NW Indiana. I love the lake, making music, being in nature and making art.
I've mostly worked in the service industry, working in every aspect of catering from valet parking cars to tending bar at my friend's Mom's catering company. I come from a construction background, working on jobs with my dad as far back as I can remember, but later on in life I started bartending in South Bend while attending Indiana University- South Bend where I was going for Fine Arts Major focusing on sculpture. Eventually moved on to bartending and then brewing at Greenbush Brewing Co. in Sawyer, MI, where Burn 'Em kind of got its start.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS
We make some of the highest quality craft beer around with one of the highest quality scratch kitchens in the area.
WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR NAME?
The name was chosen in tribute to my father, Hugh Burnham Murray, whose construction company used to occupy our brewery's building. We used to home brew together when I was younger, and none of this would have been possible without him. He is no longer with us.
PARTY TRICK, USELESS TALENT, OR FUN FACT
I'm a musician and have been playing guitar for around 18 years. I've also picked up (but not very good at) banjo, violin and mandolin. I play in a band called Beer Hippies and I perform solo as Son of Hugh. Also, I can flip my eyelids inside out.
The community. The growth. The passion. We've been with The Collective since the beginning, and I've never met anyone more passionate and driven than Mandy. The Collective has become its own amazing community and we couldn't be happier to be a part of it.
