This producers-only market is all about shopping from the source, and features local farmers, artisans, restaurants, breweries and nonprofits, with all raw food items produced within a 100-mile radius of La Porte.

SECOND SUNDAY COOKING DEMOS

On the second Sunday of each month, the Farmed & Forged Market hosts a live cooking demo with Chef Marcello Marino of La Ventana Culinary School, where he teaches onlookers how to create a signature dish using items purchased from local market vendors.

SNAP BENEFITS PROGRAM

Our SNAP benefits program allows those utilizing the national food-assistance program to purchase healthy, locally-produced foods at the market.

  • ACCESS LOCAL FOODS: Purchase fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, breads and cereals, meats, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, and seeds/plants that produce food and herbs

  • EASY TO USE: Stop by the Farmed & Forged market booth to swipe EBTs card and receive vouchers

NONPROFIT BENEFICIARY

Each month, a local nonprofit is selected as the market beneficiary. Funds are raised through vendor sales and monetary donations.

During the 2023 season, we are proud to have raised over $4,500 for Michiana Humane Society, Paladin, Inc., Family Advocates, The Play for Jake Foundation and La Ventana Nonprofit Culinary School.
