About Kayla
Kayla is a Northwest Indiana native living in Valparaiso most of her life. She holds a Master's in Social Work from Indiana University Northwest and is a self-taught baker with a decade of experience working in bakeries. Kayla realized that while she loves social work, she also loves providing freshly-baked goods to lovers of sweets and treats. Kayla made that dream a reality and started The Chocolate Chipper, LLC in 2022 where she enjoys participating in markets, making connections with fellow business owners and customers, and creating custom requests for customers of any occasion.
The Chocolate Chipper is a bakery that specializes in freshly baked treats ranging from cakes and cookies to whatever a customer can image for any occasion.

I am a lover of books. To quote Annie Dillard, "She reads books as one would breathe air: to fill up and live." It takes about 1,000 books to count as a personal library, and I'd say it's a fair summation that I've achieved just that. It's the best form of self-care I have when overwhelmed. Just me, a book, and a cup of tea.

I'm excited to make connections with fellow business owners to learn what works and what doesn't. Failure and mistakes are a part of success, so learning and bouncing ideas off others who may have gone through it is such a huge asset in this world. I'm grateful to be a part of a community who builds on that and fosters growth together!
