MEET SCOTT

In 2016, after retiring from a long marketing exec career in Illinois, I moved to Valparaiso, Indiana to marry my husband Mark, and start a new life together. It was also a chance to reset for the next creative chapter of my life. I just didn’t know what that would be. By the end of 2016, I was restless. I had retained some of my design clients, but that did not keep me as busy as I wanted. In November of that year, I started Sapori Stationery, an online stationery store focused on design, color, and positive messaging. It has been an interesting and fun experience creating, learning, and growing in an industry that I didn’t know a lot about. Most recently I have gone back to my loves of abstract painting and environmental photography. I currently live in Valparaiso, Indiana and part-time in New Buffalo, Michigan, with my husband, Mark, and my two Basenji dogs, Rex and Max.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"I have been a creative being my entire existence—as a graphic designer, abstract painter, and amateur photographer. My creativity flows into all areas of my life, from travel and building projects to fashion and stationery products. My work centers on exploring color, its relationships, and various application techniques, ultimately creating a moment of reflection, curiosity, and connection, where the viewer becomes part of the story."
